Students should be entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2021. This camp is intended for high school students who are ready to successfully audition for the Texas All-Region and All-State Ensembles. Students should have quality equipment available to them at home, suitable for use in advanced technical studies.
In addition to the technology requirements detailed below, students will need the ability to print music (or view on a tablet or monitor separate from the device used for ZOOM). Music for many sessions will be provided. For those performing in the solo masterclass, you will need to have a prepared solo or etude of your own choosing, and may need to provide a scanned copy prior to the start of camp.
To facilitate a successful camp, students will need to be able to meet baseline technology requirements. Students should use a laptop or desktop computer for ZOOM for the best results. While you may use a Chromebook, tablet, or phone, your experience will not be as good. Instructions will be sent for specific audio settings to adjust prior to the start of camp. While you will get the best experience using headphones, this is not required. You will receive suggestions for setting up your space prior to the start of camp.
Any student who wishes to perform in the Masterclass will need to have a reliable external microphone, as well. If you do not have one, there are some quality budget options available, such as this one.
Tuition is $175 for those who register before May 15, and increases to $200 on or after May 15. Tuition includes access to all sessions and provided materials. Additionally, you will receive a camp t-shirt, mailed to you. You will receive instructions for paying tuition online once your registration is confirmed (see below). Those who register before May 15 and are wait-listed and later accepted to an open slot will pay tuition based on their original date of registration. Tuition will be refundable, minus the cost of shirt and postage if already ordered, up to seven days prior to the start of camp. Within 7 days of the start of camp, the balance of tuition will be refunded only if we are able to fill your slot with another student.
Registration is limited to 20 students to ensure a quality experience for everyone involved, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. First, click the button below to fill out and submit the registration form. Once submitted, you will receive notification whether you have been accepted, or will be placed on a waiting list, within 24 hours. If accepted, you will receive information about payment, which will be necessary to secure your spot. In the event of a substantial wait-list, clinicians will be consulted about the possibility of raising the enrollment limit to accommodate more students.
